This guide supports Ontario public health professionals in addressing the interconnected challenges of climate change, health equity, and the built environment. It provides practical tools and strategies to help communities become more resilient to climate-related risks, including extreme heat, wildfires & smoke, flooding & severe storms, food quality and security, water quality & security, and vector-borne diseases, while advancing healthier, more equitable neighbourhoods. The guide highlights how built environment decisions can reduce heat vulnerability, improve public health outcomes, lower greenhouse gas emissions, and strengthen collaboration across sectors to support climate adaptation and resilience.
