What we did

To support its Climate Action and Adaptation Plan (CAAP), the City of Grand Rapids, Michigan, contracted with ICLEI USA to conduct a climate risk and vulnerability assessment (CRVA). The CRVA identified current and future impacts of climate change on the City’s people, infrastructure, systems, services, and natural resources.

What we achieved

The CRVA laid the foundation for the City to identify effective resilience goals and strategies for its CAAP that address critical risks and advance equity. The City of Grand Rapids and ICLEI USA partnered with a community-based organization, Community Collaboration of Climate Change (C4) to complete focus groups for the project.
