What we are doing

Nutrition and food security are key to human development. The increase in food insecurity is a major cause for concern. With this in mind, the EU-funded AfriFOOD-Links project will improve food and nutrition security while delivering positive outcomes for the environment and building social and ecological resilience in 15 African and 5 European cities as well as more than 40 network cities. According to the project, the implementation of urban food systems lens will promote shifts to healthy and sustainable diets. Also, promoting inclusive multi-actor governance can help to empower public officials, small businesses and communities. Overall, the project will invest in direct food system change in 5 African Hub Cities and invite 10 African and 5 European Sharing Cities to join.
