What we are doing

The European Topic Centre on Sustainability trends, prospects and responses is a topic centre covering a broad range of cross-cutting systemic issues in relation to sustainability challenges and transitions. ‘Sustainability trends, prospects and responses’ is one of the five areas of work within the EEA/Eionet Strategy for the period 2021-2030. As setout there, the EEA will inform policy on sustainability challenges and transitions by assessing the synergies and trade-offs inherent to balancing environmental, social and economic objectives across EU policies.

How we are tracking

The ETC ST contributes to the three following actions: Monitoring and assessing sustainability transitions in Europe through systemic lenses Analysing sustainability transitions enablers: economics, finance, innovation, policies, and governance across scales Developing co-created knowledge for action, including foresight, with stakeholders.

What we are achieving

ICLEI Europe is the task manager in task 2.4 Urban sustainability. The activities include mapping of existing urban sustainability information and data sources across all EEA-ETCs, follow-up on the EEA urban sustainability analytical framework and supporting the Urban Stakeholders group. ICLEI also supports in stakeholder engagement and management tasks.
