Mitigation actions

Sapporo Energy Eco Project
The project promotes the transition to new energies from existing energies to improve global warming countermeasures, and offers subsidy and loan systems for new-energy and energy- saving equipments that cost high for introduction. The project will be carried out by Sapporo City, energy companies and financial institutions, and support locals, and small and medium businesses. The qualified equipments for the subsidy are 10 equipments for general citizens and 12 for small and medium companies; solar power generation devices, high-efficient water heaters called “eco-jouzu” and “eco-cute”. The project offers a flat-rate subsidy for citizens who will install the above mentioned, target equipments and 20% subsidy or no interest loan of the installation costs for small and medium companies. In addition to subsidies from general revenues, the City offers subsidy for multiple equipment introductions by using the national subsidy system (the regional Green New Deal funds) (the subsidy system will end in March 2012).
