Municipal Green Building Ordinance
At municipal level, the City of Atlanta passed Ordinance #03-0-1693 in December 2003 requiring all city-funded projects over 5,000 sqf or over $2 million to meet a LEED Silver rating level. By joining the Atlanta Better Buildings Challenge, building owners and managers pledge to save energy and water 20% by 2020 in their selected buildings.
