Climate Adaptation Plan
As part of the Western Adaptation Alliance, Las Cruces will contribute to an extreme weather/climate event inventory of temperature extremes, stormwater/floods, drought, fire, and wind. This inventory of experiences will be correlated with existing assessments of future hazards driven by increasing climate variability and change across the region. This information will be crafted into five Regional Impacts Narrative Kits and Promising Practices for Extreme Temperature Kits. The communication kits will be used with key constituencies within the community to broaden support for more robust action on climate adaptation and to provide a concise set of responses for the highest priority area of concern in the region through a climate change summit.
