Clean Fleet Policy
City vehicles will be replaced with hybrids or AFVs on an ongoing basis, as appropriate funding becomes available. Staff are directed to work with fleets under City authority to influence their expanded use of alternative fuels and high efficiency/alternative fuel vehicles (AFV) including electric, biodiesel, ethanol, hybrid, hydrogen, and compressed natural gas (CNG) based on appropriateness for vehicle task, fueling infrastructure, petroleum displacement, overall cost, and environmental benefit. For the current Fiscal Year, two hybrid wastewater vehicles have been ordered and are expected to arrive in May. For Fiscal Year 2013, two additional wastewater vehicles will be replaced with either hybrid or alternative fuel technologies. Start year 2008
