In order to reduce reliance on traditional forms of energy and to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, the Renewable
Energy Project should be continued where funding opportunities arise and as part of new or significant
redevelopments of the City’s community facilities.
The City currently has a solar hot water system installed at Craigie Leisure Centre which provides a portion of the heating required to heat the water used in the pool’s showers. A further 15 solar hot water systems
will be installed at seven locations in the City during 2013/14
City of Joondalup has reported 1 Community emission inventory, since 2013. In its latest inventory, compiled in 2013, the "Stationary energy", "Transport" and "Waste management" are identified as key emission sources.
